 Ferndown Junior Netball club is based in Ferndown, Dorset, UK, and caters for junior players ranging from 9 to 16 years of age. As of March 2011 we have over 45 girls who attend Monday training sessions.
During the Summer of 2010 our Under-15 team, Ferndown Lions, won Division 10 of the Bournemouth Adult League, conceding the lowest number of goals in all ten divisions, and were promoted to division 7 for the Winter league. They also won the American Tournament (Division 10), and were runners-up in the Versatility Tournament.
Their division 7 campaign also proved to be a success. They finished second and have made a jump straight up to Division 3 for the Summer.
Last season Erin Hooper and Katherine Jacobs took part in the Dorset County Academy development program, which aims to help promising players reach their full potential. Erin was subsequently invited to join the South-West Regional Player Development Pathway, attending 4 training sessions at Bath University.
This year we are proud that 5 girls have been invited to the Dorset County Academy: Emily Wells, Erin Hooper, Felicity Steel, Georgia Gilson and Katherine Jacobs.
